Growing up in Utah, I’ve been surrounded by mountains, lakes, canyons, and valleys my entire life. I was raised as a gearhead, by a family full of gearheads. Sunday night dinners always consisted of my dad and his brothers swapping stories about their latest adventures and relinquishing reviews about their newly acquired pieces of equipment. Listening to debates of long-time mountain men inspired me to take a deep-interest in the vast world of outdoor gear.

I love to thrift and repurpose most of my clothes, and strive to incorporate that into my work in developing products. I’ve learned to take my ability to think critically about pieces of gear, paired with creativity and design, to develop new products that provide new features and functions. Through sketching and drafting, I’ve developed a passion for engineering products and their technical specifications. The ability to see ideas come to life in a physical state and test out prototypes for products and assess a variety of ideas and features, then deciding what will work best for the end-user and end-goal of a project, is what makes product development a captivating process.

Generating ideas and testing options for how to make an item better and more efficient is what pushes me to build and create. Sketching product designs, drafting specifications, printing prototypes, and developing new items that would benefit an outdoorsman is what motivates me as a designer. My goal is to build products that the mountain men I've admired will want to add to their gear-shelves.
